http://www.fertur-travel.com/lima_tours.html<br /><br />The Rafael Larco Herrera Museum exhibits artifacts, jewelry and ceramics from more than 3,000 years of Peru’s pre-Columbian history. <br />The museum is housed in a 17th century colonial mansion, itself built on the remnants of an ancient pyramid that dates back to the 7th Century. <br />Among its gold and silver artifacts is a world renowned collection of “Huacos Eróticos”, graphic ceramic depictions of sexual acts from the Moche culture, which dominated Peru’s northern coast for 800 years until about 800 A.D. <br />With a quiet courtyard, a lush green lawn, and bougainvillea climbing the walls, it could be mistaken for a secluded country hacienda, even though it’s in the heart of one of South America’s largest and busiest cities.
