🚨 On July 21, 2023, officers responded to a 7-Eleven after reports of a physical altercation between an employee and an Uber Eats driver.<br /><br />According to the Uber Eats driver, she entered the store to pick up an order after finding the door open and speaking with another employee. She stated that a store employee became aggressive, told her she was not supposed to be inside, locked the door, struck her with a scanner, and physically prevented her from leaving. The driver also reported suffering a head injury during the encounter.<br /><br />When officers arrived, they observed the employee on top of the woman and immediately separated the two. Police interviewed both parties and attempted to review store surveillance footage, but management reported that most of the camera system was not functioning at the time.<br /><br />The employee claimed the store was temporarily closed while a delivery truck was unloading and said he believed the woman was not authorized to be inside. However, officers questioned why force was used and why the woman was allegedly prevented from leaving the store.<br /><br />Following the investigation, police arrested the employee.<br /><br />According to the video, he was charged with false imprisonment, battery, criminal mischief, resisting an officer, and obstructing justice by hindering a witness from communicating information to law enforcement.
