Waves pound Taiwan's northern coastline as Typhoon Bavi nears<br /><br />Typhoon Bavi brought high waves and strong winds to the coastal area of northern Taiwan on Friday (July 10). While the typhoon is not expected to make landfall in Taiwan, it will dump huge amounts of rain on the island — some areas could get up to one meter (3.3 feet) of rain — starting late on Friday.
