Another installment from the Amarillo College Natural History Museum. This one the Maritime Gallery.<br /><br />One might ask why ship models in a Natural History Museum? The answer is simple All early exploration was done using sailing ships. For example Charles Darwin's famous voyage of discovery on the HMS Beagle.<br /><br />The ship models in the ACNHM were done by a master modeler who donated the collection for the purpose of public education. Most are in the Museum, a few however are in the Library on the Washington Street Campus, Amarillo, Texas.
