Data centre developer Firmus Technologies has inadvertently revealed it wants to use water from an agricultural irrigation scheme to cool a so-called AI factory it plans to build near Devonport. Tasmanian Irrigation says it has given no undertaking to Firmus, and supplying water to artificial intelligence data centres is not its purpose.
