http://www.fertur-travel.com/lima_tours.html<br /><br />The Lima Art Museum offers an eclectic mix of traditional and modern Peruvian art.<br />In 1954, a small group of 25 business leaders and intellectuals formed an association, the Patrons of the Arts, with the mission of promoting culture and art in Peru.<br /><br />The municipality of Lima donated the old Exposition Palace on the broad avenue, Paseo Colón.<br />The Exposition Palace is a grand work of art itself, designed by Antonio Leonardo in the Eiffel studio in France, and built between 1870 and 1871.<br />The museum is divided into nine galleries,a coffee shop, gift shop and one of Limas best art house cinemas.<br /><br />Besides exhibiting Peru's best art — covering the colonial era to the present — the museum also offers a wide selection of furniture, woodcarvings and photos.
