Simon Thacker's unique nine piece East/West group The Nava Rasa Ensemble perform Indian composer Shirish Korde's Nada Ananda, concerto for guitar and chamber ensemble.
This video features excerpts from each of the three movements. The first movement is in the style of a North Indian Alap. This and the second movement are based on the raga Lalit which, according to Indian music theory, is generally played at daybreak.
Recently premiered on an acclaimed UK tour, Nada Ananda ["the joy of sound"] will be released on CD later in 2010.
