<p><br /> A wild bison strayed out of its habitat and went on the rampage in a village in West Bengal killing one man and injuring six others.<br /> </p><p><br /> The creature walked into Dalsingpara village in the Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal state on Sunday (March 21).<br /> </p><p><br /> A male resident was standing outside his house when the animal rushed in and gored him to death on the spot.<br /> </p><p><br /> The six other villagers who were also injured were rushed to the nearby hospital and are undergoing treatment for serious injuries.<br /> </p><p><br /> It was early morning when the wild animal went on a rampage, when most villagers were not yet out on the streets. "My mother was about to go to the bathroom when the animal came in and attacked her. I started to scream and had I not shouted, the animal would have gored my mother to death," said villager Priyanka Saha.<br /> </p><p><br /> The Forest Rangers and the police managed to trap the animal and tranquilise it. It was then loaded on a truck and taken back to the forest area.<br /> </p><p><br /> The Chilapata Reserve Forest is a dense jungle skirting the Jaldapara Wildlife Sanctuary in the Dooars region of Jalpaiguri district.<br /> </p>
