<p><br /> Hail stones the size of golf balls have been pounding the Western Australian city of Perth in a storm so violent that the local media are calling it a natural disaster.<br /> </p><p><br /> The storm has left a trail of destruction in its path with flash flooding, mudslides and strong winds of up to 75 miles per hour.<br /> </p><p><br /> Nearly 100 people have been evacuated from one apartment building in central Perth after a landslip pushed sand into the complex and covered two parked cars.<br /> </p><p><br /> Outbound flights from Perth Airport were halted when part of the ceiling collapsed.<br /> </p><p><br /> And people in a local hospital also had a lucky escape when the roof of the emergency room caved in.<br /> </p><p><br /> The raging weather means that over 150 people have lost power to their homes and<br /> </p><p><br /> A major clean up is now under way, but it is estimated that the cost of the damage could be over 100 million Australian dollars (£60 million)<br /> </p><p><br /> Residents are being warned that there is still more stormy weather to come tomorrow.<br /> </p>
