The premiere of Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang had an unexpected guest. As well as the movie's writer and star Emma Thompson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Rhys Ifans, a pig graced the event in London's Leicester Square.

Scarlett, a curly-haired swine, was invited to watch the family film, which features lots of farmyard animals. The rare-breed was snapped by paparazzi, but made sure she hogged the limelight by leaving a deposit on the blue carpet.

Nanny McPhee, the snaggle-toothed nurse maid who gets more beautiful when her charges go from naughty to nice, was a hit around the world when she first hit screens in 2005, taking more than £81m at the box office.

"She's someone I would really like to be," said creator Emma.

"Ok, maybe I would rather not have the warts. But I would really like to be as wise as her and as calm. And the other thing I would really like to have is a magic stick," she added.

The second instalment sees McPhee coming to the rescue of a young mum played by Maggie Gyllenhaal. Mrs Green is struggling to run her farm and look after a set of unruly children.
