<p><br /> An army major, who lost the use of both legs while serving in Iraq, is in training for the 2010 London Marathon.<br /> </p><p><br /> Phil Packer, who served with the Royal Military Police, was told by doctors that he would never walk again after being badly injured in Basra in 2008.<br /> </p><p><br /> He was hit by a vehicle and dragged underneath it during an incident that followed a rocket attack.<br /> </p><p><br /> Major Packer completed the London Marathon on crutches last year, crossing the finish line 13 days after he started.<br /> </p><p><br /> This year he is planning to do it in just 26 hours.<br /> </p><p><br /> It is just the latest in an amazing series of feats the paraplegic has undertaken to help raise £1 million for charity, Help for Heroes.<br /> </p><p><br /> On top of one marathon on crutches, Major Packer has taken part in a skydive with the Red Devils, rowed across the English Channel, and climbed El Capitan, a rock formation in California.<br /> </p>
