<p><br /> Doctors have developed lens implants that can be adjusted after an operation - giving perfect vision to patients with serious sight problems or cataracts.<br /> </p><p><br /> The technique could end up replacing some of the 300,000 implant operations that take place on the NHS every year.<br /> </p><p><br /> Implants are very common, but these new plastic lenses are special because they can be adjusted a couple of weeks after the operation to put them in.<br /> </p><p><br /> Surgeons use ultraviolet radiation to adjust the lens and mould it to suit the specific requirements of the patient just a few weeks after implantation.<br /> </p><p><br /> That fixes or cures the plastic of the lens and changes its shape.<br /> </p>
