"I'm on a jihad against people who prey on the desperateness of the startup entrepreneur," Jason Calacanis told The Deal last week. Calacanis was in New York City to host the Open Angel Forum, an evening when half a dozen startups got the opportunity to pitch 20 of the city's top angel investors -- without having to pay for the privilege, as some other competing events require.
