London – June 18th, 1940 – 10 pm<br />De Gaulle makes his call to the French<br /><br />As the French armed forces fold before the onslaught of the German army, newly appointed general, Charles de Gaulle, flies to London to request military aid from Churchill.<br />When he learns that Maréchal Pétain has asked Hitler for German peace terms, de Gaulle decides to make a call for resistance.<br />But it takes 24 hours of constant negotiation with Britain's leaders for de Gaulle to receive permission to make his BBC broadcast.<br /><br />Until then largely unknown to the French public, the general suddenly dons the mantle of a figure of legend.<br /><br />Directed by Felix Olivier<br />Produced by Frederic Fougea<br />With : Michel Vuillermoz<br />Original music by Laurent Ferlet<br /><br />© Boréales - FIT Productions 2010
