Shrek gets send-off at NY premiere

<p><br /> Cameron Diaz admits waving goodbye to the Shrek films is difficult.<br /> </p><p><br /> The actress, who voices the part of Princess Fiona in the animated franchise, attended the world premiere for Shrek Forever After in New York.<br /> </p><p><br /> The star, 37, said: "It is very hard. It is the end for Shrek, for Far Far Away and all the characters and for Shrek and Fiona. It's been a wonderful ride and lovely to be a part of it. I feel honored to be a part of it."<br /> </p><p><br /> Mike Myers, who plays the green ogre, said making a fourth instalment allowed them to go out on a high.<br /> </p><p><br /> "Fawlty Towers did it great. They wrote a set number of them and then they walked away. I think this is a very elegant move by Jeffrey to give it a full and complete thought. I am very excited," said the actor.<br /> </p><p><br /> The final chapter in the film fairy tale, which is being released in 3D, sees Shrek being tricked by Rumplestiltskin. He eventually finds himself in an alternate world where none of his friends know him.<br /> </p><p><br /> Eddie Murphy returns as Donkey, while Antonio Banderas reprises his role as Puss In Boots.<br /> </p><p><br /> Shrek Forever After is released in the UK in July.<br /> </p>
