Reid Baer is Fat and Stupid<br />By Reid Baer<br /><br />Once upon a time a thin man told me I was <br />funny whether I meant to be or not that I <br />was a kind of jolly fellow he said but what <br />I think he meant was that I was a really fat<br /><br />stupid guy … and such is my hope to be very <br />very stupid and physically like the Buddha – <br />blessedly so passed the superiority <br />of sagacity in words or rhymes even in <br /><br />intuitivity. So as I strive now to <br />understand I am back in my head to this here<br />stupidity rocking like a hobbyhorse to <br />a beat or a certain Rocking Horse Winner! I <br /><br />pray for the divine kind of stupidity that <br />keeps my soul old as the white-haired Magician and <br />away from cleverness and megalomania <br />of the world. Oh dear God might I be deaf and dumb <br /><br />to the demands of the rational mind and the<br />necessary assurance of being right all <br />the time. I beg to be free and allowed the awk-<br />ward folly that appears funny to mankind. I’m<br /><br />unwilling to disregard such a large chunk of<br />stupidity inherent in all of us and<br />me for sure gifted with a sublime abundance - <br />oh yes sir - plumb full in my ignorant nature.<br /><br />-
