<p><br /> The X Factor team has a new face, but it is not the one that was rumoured in the papers.<br /> </p><p><br /> Former Blue Peter presenter Konnie Huq has been signed up to front ITV2 switchover programme The Xtra Factor.<br /> </p><p><br /> Konnie replaces Holly Willoughby, who had to step down due to her commitments on This Morning.<br /> </p><p><br /> Konnie, 34, said: "I am delighted to be joining The Xtra Factor team. It's amazing to be a part of one of the most popular and well-loved shows on television and I can't wait to get started."<br /> </p><p><br /> Claire Zolkwer, ITV's Commissioning Editor for Entertainment said: "We're thrilled that Konnie is going to be joining Xtra Factor. Her broadcast experience alongside her enthusiasm for the show will be a great asset to ITV2."<br /> </p><p><br /> Tabloids claimed The One Show host Christine Bleakley was being lined up for the job.<br /> </p>
