<p><br /> Academy Award-winning director and producer Peter Jackson has opened a new "King Kong 360 3-D" attraction Universal Studios.<br /> </p><p><br /> Jackson, who was the creative force behind the ride, directed the 2005 "King Kong" film remake starring Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody and Jack Black. It is the fourth-highest grossing film in the history of Universal Pictures.<br /> </p><p><br /> Celebrity guests and members of the public gathered at the theme park to hear a pre-record message from Jackson and have a go on the ride.<br /> </p><p><br /> Jackson welcomed the crowd and talked about how he got involved with the project.<br /> </p><p><br /> "When Universal asked me to bring back King Kong, I was delighted because as you're probably aware, the King Kong movie doesn't really lend itself to a sequel because Kong plummets off the Empire State Building at the end."<br /> </p><p><br /> The crowds of guests rode off in trams after the speech to experience the ride for the first time.<br /> </p>
