<p><br /> Young Brit actor Andrew Garfield has landed the role of Spiderman in a new movie showing Peter Parker's early years.<br /> </p><p><br /> He beat off competition from Billy Elliot star Jamie Bell and Kick Ass actor Aaron Johnson to land the role.<br /> </p><p><br /> The announcement comes after plans for a Spiderman 4 movie were cancelled following scheduling issues.<br /> </p><p><br /> The new movie will be in 3D and is to be directed by (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb.<br /> </p><p><br /> Filming begins in December with a release date to be confirmed for some time in 2012.<br /> </p>
