Four British soldiers killed in 24 hours

<p><br /> A British serviceman has been killed in Afghanistan, bringing the number who have died in the country in a 24-hour period to four.<br /> </p><p><br /> The Ministry of Defence said the soldier from the Royal Logistics Corps died in a blast in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand.<br /> </p><p><br /> Lieutenant Colonel James Carr-Smith said: "It is with sadness I must inform you that a soldier from the Royal Logistic Corps, serving with the Counter Improvised Explosive Device task force, was killed this afternoon."<br /> </p><p><br /> "He was a very brave and courageous man and he will be missed by us all. We will remember him."<br /> </p><p><br /> The MoD has announced three other British military deaths in the last 24 hours. The death toll in the Afghan campaign since 2001 now stands at 322.<br /> </p><p><br /> A soldier from the Royal Dragoon Guards was killed in a separate blast in the Nahr-e Saraj district, a marine from 40 Commando Royal Marines died in an explosion while on foot patrol in Sangin and an airman from the RAF Regiment died in a road accident near Camp Bastion.<br /> </p><p><br /> Their families have been informed.<br /> </p>
