<p><br /> A rare zebra/donkey hybrid foal has become the star attraction at a US wildlife park.<br /> </p><p><br /> The animal, born last week at the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega in north Georgia, is a zedonk or zonkey - the unusual offspring of a zebra father and donkey mother cross.<br /> </p><p><br /> Named Pippi Longstocking, the foal has stocking-like black stripes prominently displayed on her legs.<br /> </p><p><br /> Donkeys and zebras don't usually mate, but zedonks turn up occasionally as both species are members of the horse family.<br /> </p><p><br /> The Chestatee Wildlife Preserve owns a handful of female zebras and just one male.<br /> </p><p><br /> The owner said the preserve keeps donkeys with the zebras because they help keep them calm, but said this was the first time he's ever known them to mate.<br /> </p>
