DeckExpert.com questions the assembly methods used by Westcoat Specialty Coating Systems for the ALX traffic coating system.<br /><br />Westcoat in their literature claims the product is a Class A and One Hour rated system. ICC-ES recognizes the system only as Class A rated.<br /><br />Westcoat's recommended assembly method entails the use of "WP-40". They put WP-40 down over the seams of the plywood or for "maximum protection" to put it down over the whole deck...<br /><br />but the WP 40 isn't part of the ICC recognized system. What would happen if a fire was on top of the deck with WP-40 under it? What would happen to a deck without WP-40 under it with a fire on it?<br /><br />DeckExpert.com finds out, watch what happens to a smaple with WP-40 on the deck gets burned with an Santa Maria style oak bbq burning away.<br /><br />ICC-ES doesn't recognize our test, but they know about it...<br /><br />For the record, ICC does not recognize Westcoat's assembly method using WP-40.
