<p><br /> Ricky Gervais has unveiled his latest TV project, declaring sending his "moron" best mate around the world as "the funniest thing I've ever seen".<br /> </p><p><br /> Gervais and his writing partner Stephen Merchant packed Karl Pilkington off to see the Seven Wonders of the World hoping it would broaden his mind.<br /> </p><p><br /> The duo, who had a massive hit online with Karl and The Ricky Gervais Show podcasts, lovingly compare him to Homer Simpson.<br /> </p><p><br /> The audiobooks were made into cartoons, now Karl is on our television screens properly in An Idiot Abroad on Sky 1 HD.<br /> </p><p><br /> "If I had my way I'd have a little camera on him 24/7 like The Truman Show," said Gervais.<br /> </p><p><br /> He added: "I can't get enough of him, I call him every day.<br /> </p><p><br /> "It's not a comedy but it's the funniest thing I've ever seen."<br /> </p><p><br /> The show starts this September.<br /> </p>
