<p> An Australian woman has died in a base jumping accident in Malaysia, after her parachute failed to open. </p><p> Tantiky Lie Marion, 42, was conducting a practise jump from a 165-metre tall communications tower in the Malaysian city of Alor Setar. </p><p> Marion was with 19 other international jumpers training for the annual Kuala Lumpur Tower International Jump in Malaysia's capital city in October. </p><p> Base jumping is a popular sporting activity where parachutists jump from tall buildings, bridges and cliffs. </p><p> Eyewitnesses say that the woman fell to the ground after jumping off the tower and that her parachute failed to open. </p><p> The management of the Alor Setar tower confirmed the incident but gave no further details. </p>
