Brits win big at the International Emmy Awards

<p><br /> Simon Cowell has led a British invasion at the International Emmy Awards in New York.<br /> </p><p><br /> The music mogul won an honorary award for his work in the television business, and collected it with trademark candour.<br /> </p><p><br /> "Whoever said fame, money, success would destroy you - completely wrong. Bring it on, genuinely," he told the audience. "My life was boring before I went on TV and see now I've got lots of friends."<br /> </p><p><br /> It was a great night for UK talent, as Brits took home five awards, including acting gongs for Bob Hoskins and Helena Bonham Carter.<br /> </p><p><br /> Acclaimed UK show The Street also won best drama series, and Shaun the Sheep won for best children's programming.<br /> </p>
