The act was to spread awareness on the need to protect the environment.<br /><br />A group of American dancers named “Bandloop” performed an aerial dance on the walls of the historical Golconda Fort in India’s Hyderabad City on Sunday.<br /><br />The objective of this unique performance is to encourage people to protect the environment.<br /><br />The historic setting played a perfect backdrop for artists who displayed their skill with the ropes and limbs.<br /><br />Like spider monkeys, they scaled the walls and astonished the audience with gravity-defying moves and acrobatics.<br /><br />The uneven, vertical walls of the 13th century fort turned into a flat horizontal dancing floor for artists, loping along its walls and leaping into the air in perfect coordination.<br /><br />For a thrilling view of all the acts, the spectators enjoyed watching the performance from atop a stage.<br /><br />[Rajesh Desai, Spectator]:<br />“I have not seen anything like this before. It was one of the first of its kind. The backdrop was spectacular. Our architecture (was) put to great use and I hope they will perform again."<br /><br />This was the group’s first public performance in India.
