Bosnia hit by worst floods in a century

<p><br /> Bosnia and Herzegovina has been hit with the worst flooding the country has seen in a century.<br /> </p><p><br /> Four days of heavy rain has caused the River Drina to burst it's banks in the north east of the country.<br /> </p><p><br /> The overflowing River, which separates Bosnia from Serbia and Montenegro, forced authorities to declare a state of emergency and evacuate thousands of people in all three countries.<br /> </p><p><br /> More than 2,000 thousand people were evacuated from their homes in the Bosnian town of Bijeljina where the Drina meets the River Sava.<br /> </p><p><br /> Bosnian army, police and volunteers used boats to deliver food and drinking water to suburbs cut off from electricity, drinking water and phone lines.<br /> </p><p><br /> Schools were closed, power and heating were lost and water supplies contaminated along the river in all three countries.<br /> </p>
