<p><br /> A police officer and a police community support officer have been stabbed in a street attack, witnesses have said.<br /> </p><p><br /> Members of the public said the uniformed officers suffered head injuries in Ealing, west London.<br /> </p><p><br /> A large number of police vehicles and ambulances blocked Ealing Broadway and an area of pavement was cordoned off with police tape.<br /> </p><p><br /> One witness said the officers were injured in a scuffle with the man in the busy shopping area.<br /> </p><p><br /> A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the PC and PCSO were taken to hospital by ambulance.<br /> </p><p><br /> He said the PCSO is believed to have suffered non-life threatening injuries but the Pc may have been more seriously wounded.<br /> </p><p><br /> The spokesman said the attack took place after a "police stop", which could mean the officers were trying to stop and search the man.<br /> </p><p><br /> The suspected attacker has been arrested.<br /> </p><p><br /> Model Portia Freno said she witnessed the attack as she travelled to a photoshoot.<br /> </p><p><br /> Writing on Twitter, she said: "I am disgusted. Two police officers just got stabbed in the head in Ealing. Not a nice thing to witness at all."<br /> </p><p><br /> She posted a photograph showing an ambulance, a paramedic fast-response car and a large number of police vehicles parked in the street.<br /> </p>
