His two companions also suffered serious injuries on a course at Hawks Nest north of Sydney.<br /> </p><p><br /> The wild weather also forced the evacuation of 700 people from the Penrith Leagues Club, in Sydney.<br /> </p><p><br /> The storm passed quickly but was intense, darkening skies in the city enough that street lights came on.<br /> </p><p><br /> Thunderstorms are relatively common during early summer, which starts in December.<br /> </p>
