Zeng Jinchun was found guilty of taking more than 31 million yuan, or $4.7-million U.S. dollars, in bribes.<br /><br />State media reported Zeng, the former secretary for the Chenzhou Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection, awarded mine contracts and job promotions in exchange for bribes from 1997 to 2006.<br /><br />Zeng was found guilty by the Intermediate People's Court of Changsha City in November 2008 and higher courts rejected his appeals.
