<p><br /> Heavy rainfall in greater Sao Paulo has caused severe flooding leaving several people stranded on major roadways.<br /> </p><p><br /> At least four different people have been rescued from the top of their cars via helicopter by civil defence officials near Santo Andres.<br /> </p><p><br /> The heavy rain showers have caused the Tamanduatei river to overflow.<br /> </p><p><br /> Cars floated along major roads and desperate drivers and passengers were left stranded in the water.<br /> </p><p><br /> The latest rainfall and flooding comes nearly a week after 700 people died and 14,000 were left homeless in neighbouring Rio de Janeiro state from severe flooding and landslides.<br /> </p>
