Sudan - Referendum: Looking set to be divided in two... Nearly ninety nine per cent of people who took part in a referendum in Southern Sudan have voted in favour of independence from Sudan as a whole, according to official results released last night. Sudans President Omar al-Bashir has said that he respects the choice that Southerners have made. The biggest country in Africa therefore looks set to be divided in two.
