http://2012electionnews.org While on vacation in Hawaii for the holiday season President Obama used his Presidential powers to appoint four new US ambassadors, a US public printer and the deputy attorney general, filling holes in his administration that have remained empty for months while Congress was in session. With the members on Capitol Hill away for the holiday recess as well President Obama selected James Cole, who has been nominated for the deputy attorney general post since the end of the spring, angering Republicans who question Cole’s work with “bailed-out” insurance giant AIG, and Cole’s previous comments comparing the September 11th World Trade Center attacks with the drug trade and organized crime. The GOP has ignored the nomination of Cole since it was announced earlier this year, but the nomination did earn the approval of the Senate Judiciary Committtee during the summer months.
