People say they're happy to be back... having lived in shelters on the South Korea mainland.<br /><br />Residents of South Korea's Yeonpyeong Island returned on Sunday after a North Korean shelling forced them to evacuate last November.<br /><br />Nearly 800 of the island's 1700 residents returned, grateful to be home after staying at the port city of Incheon on the mainland of South Korea.<br /><br />[Pak Jae-bok, Yeonpyeong Island Resident]:<br />"I stayed away from the island for three months. I could not adapt to living away from the island. I am glad I am returning to my island where I have a job to do."<br /><br />A graduation ceremony took place at the Yeonpyeong Elementary, Middle and High School for 29 students.<br /><br />[Oh Jeong-sook, Yeonpyeong Island Resident]:<br />"I am grateful for the fact that none of our students were injured and they could graduate from their school here."<br /><br />Many buildings and houses were destroyed during the North's shelling, and temporary shelters have been set up on the island.<br /><br />North Korea shelled Yeonpyeong in November 2010, killing four people and sparking fears of possible all-out war.
