This is the latest in a series of bomb attacks Pakistan has seen for the last three years - since the military started an offensive on Taliban insurgents.<br /><br />A car bomb exploded at a natural gas filling station in the Pakistani city of Faisalabad on Tuesday.<br /><br />The blast set off gas cylinders at the station, severely damaging nearby buildings and numerous vehicles.<br /><br />Officials say 17 people were killed and more than 100 wounded.<br /><br />No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, but the government is battling various militant factions including Pakistani Taliban, which have ties to al Qaida.<br /><br />Pakistan has seen a wave of bombs in the past three years, many in the northwest near the border with Afghanistan, where the military is battling Taliban insurgents.<br /><br />The army says that several military offensives over the past two years have weakened the militants, but bomb attacks are still common.
