EUGENE YSAYE AS YOU NEVER HEARD <br />The original record of this work, was made on Dec. 30th 1912 in the Columbia Studios (N.Y.) by an acoustical method. The sound, collected by a horn in front of which the artist was held, was transmitted directly on a rotating table supporting a hot wax matrix. The reading of the record was done on a gramophone with a metallic needle. On the re-recording that you will hear here, all the noises, frictions and imperfections of original record were filtered and eliminated by a digital process. In spite of a very weak band-width, we can realize the virtuosity and technicality of the extraordinary interpreter who was Eugène Ysaÿe. He is accompanied by Camille Decreus.
