http://www.BurningBallads.com The Django Reinhardt festival in Samois Sur Seine is where I fell in love with Gypsy Jazz back in 1990 when I went for the first time with my father and a couple of guitars. The romance of Django’s music and people was intoxicating and it changed my life forever.<br />In this video lesson I teach you the beautiful chord sequence from Babik Reinhardt’s composition ‘Mirroirs’ which was featured in the film ‘Django’s Legacy’ an inspiration to us all.<br />Firstly we look at the traditional minor descending pattern, which is very common, and learn the fingerings in E minor. Then we look at another inversion of E minor with the 6th in the bass, which sounds great as the tonic E descends from the top.<br />Lastly we hip it up with the way Babik Reinhardt did using the minor/major chord to start.<br />The harmonies sound rich and it’s important to caress the strings to bring the full beauty out.
