The youth of India were besotted with Rajiv. At the same time, he was loved and admired by all sections of the populace. He was India's hope, aspiration, and future. He had the capacity to think clearly, and firmly, work sincerely and meaningfully. Rajiv Gandhi was a man of many parts, lover of nature, admirer of art and literature, pilot, sportsman, and of course, statesman. Most would agree that Rajiv Gandhi, as a person, evokes the picture of a modern man, totally committed to the greatness of India. He was a walking computer- there was simply no match for him. The young Gandhi was an upholder of democracy and secularism, the lifeblood of India. He laid down his life working towards his goal. But most of all, Rajiv Gandhi was a man of infinite courtesy, wisdom and force of character. The world misses him and will continue to miss him for generations to come.
