Jairam Ramesh the Minister of Rural Development in the Congress led UPA Government is tabled the land acquisition bill in the Parliament today. The issues of wrong land acquisition at various places in Uttar Pradesh had evoked public attention when Mayawati Government’s acquired farmers’ land at a cheap price and sold it to real estate giants. Farmers at different parts of U.P had protested against this anti-farmer policy of Mayawati Government and there were reports of police firing against the agitators at many places.
