A bunch of flowers and a quiet moment of reflection - Russia's president pays his respects to the 43 people who died in a plane crash on the previous day.<br/> Thirty six of those who died where players and team officials from Yarsolavl Lokomotiv, one of Russia's top ice hockey teams.<br/> The Soviet-designed Yak-42 passenger plane slammed into the banks of the Volga River just outside Yaroslavl, killing all but two of those on board.<br/> The two survivors - including one player - are in a critical condition.<br/> Medvedev said the country was in shock after the accident.<br/> (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) RUSSIAN PRESIDENT DMITRY MEDVEDEV:<br/> "First of all, I would like to express my sincere condolences to the nearest and dearest of those who died in the air crash which happened in Yaroslavl. Of course, it is a shock for the whole country, as is usual when these crashes happen".<br/> On Wednesday night, fans gathered at the Locomotiv stadium to hold a makeshift memorial.<br/> Lokomotiv's squad includes players and coaches from several countries and the tributes have been pouring in from around the world.<br/> But it is here where the tragedy will be felt the most.<br/> Simon Hanna, Reuters.
