The Schwab Foundation has named Darell Hammond as a U.S. Social Entrepreneur of the Year. Hammond is CEO and Founder of Kaboom, which mobilizes communities to create safe places for children to play. Hammond joins a global network of social entrepreneurs from over 40 countries, including Elizabeth Hausler of BuildChange, which improves home-building in earthquake zones in China, Indonesia, and Haiti, and Dan Viederman of Verite, which ensures safe, fair, and legal conditions for workers around the world. <br /><br />Audi and Best Buddies International teamed up for the 5th Audi Best Buddies Challenge held last Saturday. The event, a charity bicycle ride, walk, and run along the Pacific Coast Highway, brought together athletes, actors, and supporters to raise over $4 million.
