Madonna brings royalty to Toronto

After receiving mixed reviews in Venice, Madonna hoped for better reception on for her film "W.E." to audiences on the other side of the Atlantic.<br/> The singer-turned-director showcased her second film, this one about the U.S. socialite Wallis Simpson whose romance with Britain's King Edward VIII in the early 20th century caused a scandal.<br/> Not only was she American, a divorcee but also their affair lead to the king's abdication of the throne.<br/> It's a story Madonna says she has always been intrigued by.<br/> When asked at a news conference what the director thought of critics, she said it was important to keep her personal life out of it.<br/> SOUNDBITE: Madonna, Director of "W.E." saying (English):<br/> "Well, I do when I think that it's a fair criticism. I can tell when people are reviewing my film and when they're reviewing me personally. I welcome criticisms of my film when it's viewed as an artistic form and not when people are mentioning things about my personal life or my achievements in any other field because they're irrelevant to the film."<br/> And the singer who once did a world tour called "Blonde Ambition", finally cleared up the truth about her locks.<br/> REPORTER ASKING: "I noticed that in the movie all the women kind of looked like you. Is it just me that every beautiful woman looks like you or was that your plan?"<br/> SOUNDBITE: Madonna, Director of "W.E." saying (English):<br/> "Really, I never thought anyone looked like me. First of all they're all brunettes. So, lets just start with that."<br/> REPORTER SAYING: "You've gone through a few hair changes."<br/> "I'm not, I'm not a brunette. I'm not.
