Parisians are divided after watching former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn give his first interview on French televsion.
In the interview, Strauss-Kahn admitted to having a weakness for women, but said he was innocent of foul play.
Strauss-Kahn was accused of sexually assaulting a New York maid, but the charges were eventually dropped.
Some applauded his candour.
(SOUNDBITE) (French) PASSER-BY, CHARLES-HENRI SAYING:
"I found his appearance interesting. I thought he was honest. In my opinion, he adopted a noble attitude. He didn't really apologise but he recognised his mistake, his fault. So there you go, for me, there isn't any issue with that."
Others said they doubted his sincerity.
(SOUNDBITE) (French) PASSER-BY, JEAN-MARIE SAYING:
"Well it didn't really seem very sincere, to be honest. It seemed more prepared and a tad hypocritical to be honest."
Strauss-Kahn refused to comment on his future involvement in French politics, except to say he was not running for president in the next elections.
Jessica Gray, Reuters
