Calls continue in Yemen for Saleh to quit<br/> The calls in Yemen for President Ali Abdullah Saleh to quit continue.<br/> On Friday the White House reiterated its demand that Saleh sign a plan under which he hand over power. Saleh has repeatedly shied away from a Gulf-brokered transition deal, despite eight months of protests.<br/> SOUNDBITE: Protester Saleh al Sormi, saying: (Arabic):<br/> "Today's protest is one in a series of previous protests which are calling for toppling the regime and trying Ali Abdullah Saleh for all the bloodshed and crimes that he committed over recent days."<br/> On Sunday close to ten thousand protesters fill the streets of the Capital city of Sanaa.<br/> Women and children pour water from their windows and rooftops over the protesters in a traditional expression of support.<br/> Yemeni security forces stand on the sidelines of the march.<br/> One protester kisses soldiers helmets as he passes by.<br/> Saleh said in an interview Friday that he will only step down if his key rivals do not take over, a stance that could further hinder a long-stalled deal to ease him out of power.<br/> Deborah Lutterbeck, Reuters
