In this video host, attorney Ben Glass, interviews attorney Francis Jackson of the law firm of Jackson & MacNichol with the question: Yours is a very small, specialized niche. Tell us what is a veterans' benefit case? There are two kinds of veterans' benefits that are available. There is the pension benefit for those who have served in a war and have become disabled. The more common claim is for injuries or diseases that resulted from the service in some way — whether it is PTSD — which we have all been hearing about with Afghanistan, or TBI, or it is a simpler thing like a person who injured their back in the service and now that injury has become more severe and disabling. The government, through the Veterans Administration, provides for compensation benefits for any service-connected injury or disability and then as I mentioned, pension benefits which are more limited.
