Family and friends wait to greet political prisoners released from jail in Myanmar in an unprecedented show of amnesty.<br/> The prisoners, some looking tired and worn, walked, or were wheeled through throngs of supporters.<br/> The decision to release the activists comes as the Myanmar government begins to drastically relax years of iron-fisted rule.<br/> In March of this year, a retired army general took office as the first democratically elected civilian head of state in half a century.<br/> Last year, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi was released after 15 years of house arrest.<br/> Today Suu Kyi said she was thankful for the prisoners' release and that independence for all is priceless.<br/> Julie Noce, Reuters
