The base invited Yanni to adopt the panda, saying they had chosen the Greek music star because of his inspiring and harmonious music.<br /><br />Traditionally an invitation to adopt a panda is reserved for countries rather than personalities.<br /><br />The singer has named the panda "Santorini" which is partly based on the Greek word for "peace".
