The vast majority of those farmers are women and they are affected the most.<br /><br />Why poor farmers cannot ensure their food security?<br /><br />1. Global food prices are rising up.<br />2. A huge amount of land is being used for biofuels.<br />3. Women often do NOT have the right to own land.<br />4. Climate change is bringing disastrous effects on food production.<br />5. Our governments have failed to protect the basic human rights.<br /><br />For the first time in history, more than a billion people are hungry. We believe that sustainable agriculture is the key solution in the fight against hunger.<br /><br />We are asking world leaders to ensure that smallholder farmers are supported to protect themselves from the food and climate crisis.<br /><br />We want to share our voices with you and support you with this symbolic action.
