Cartooning for peace takes part to the 3rd edition of the International congress "Science for Peace", held in Mialn (Italy) on Nov 18-19, 2011.<br /><br />Science for Peace is a project created on the initiative of Fondazione Umberto Veronesi who aims to find scientific and practical solutions to Peace.<br /><br />21 Nobel laureates, many scientists and distinguished personalities of international culture answered the call of Umberto Veronesi.<br /><br />The Objectives<br /><br />1. Spread the culture of Peace and overcoming the tensions between different countries:<br />Science for Peace aims to nurture Peace by proposing to raise awareness and dissemination activities for civil society and schools.<br /><br />2. Reduction of nuclear weapons and military expenses in favor of greater investments in research and development<br />Science for Peace requires from European governments to transfer part of the resources allocated to the military sector to scientific research and social emergencies.
