ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION<br/> Riot police and protesters clash in central Cairo on Saturday (November 19) a few hours after forces cleared a sit-in against military rule in Tahrir square.<br/> After a Friday rally of some 50,000 people, around a hundred had stayed in the square overnight.<br/> But on Saturday, police pulled down tents and confiscated chairs and banners they had set up, witnesses said. Some minor scuffles occurred.<br/> In the streets around, police fired tear gas at protesters who retaliated by throwing rocks.<br/> Friday's protest was aimed at pressing Egypt's military rulers to transfer power to elected civilians after the cabinet launched a move to exempt the army from parliamentary oversight.
